Julie Dela Cruz has joined the Cognitive Neurophysiology Research Group in the Winter 2008.

Julie holds a B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in Psychobiology with a minor in Classical Civilization. After a year of living in Japan as an English teacher, Julie decided to pursue her masters at NYU in psychology.

In the lab Julie currently works on MEG of visual-tactile integration in the human brain, where she tries to differentiate between early sensory-level integration mechanisms and those mediated by attention. She also researches with Dr. Carr at the Millhauser labs at NYU Med investigating the neuological differences between free feeding and food restricted rats. If that weren't enough she also works at Clinilabs, a sleep disorder institute where she studies clinical effects of sleep apnea. Julie's career aspirations is to earn a doctorate in some form of neuropsychology.

In addition, Julie enjoys playing pick-up soccer, going up to Vermont to snowboard on the weekends and practicing her Japanese.
